How do I get my X archive?

On X, go to Settings and privacy, then Your account, then Your X data. Confirm with the code X sends you and click Request data. X tells you when the .zip is ready to download.

Is my archive uploaded anywhere?

No. The zip is read in your browser and the Markdown zip is built there. Nothing is sent to a server.

How are threads handled?

A chain of your own replies to your own post becomes one file, in the order you posted it.

Does it get the full text of long posts?

Yes. The archive keeps long posts in note-tweet.js. The tool matches them to your posts and uses the full text.

Does it include my bookmarks?

No. The X archive has no bookmarks file, so there is nothing to convert.

Can it copy my images?

Yes. Turn on Copy images and videos into media/ and the Markdown links point at the copied files. With it off, images link to X.
