Every tool starts from context you provide. Nothing reads your Jira site or changes a work item.

INBOX

Capture the work

Turn scattered notes and defect evidence into one work item the team can inspect.

READY

Refine the backlog

Give the work a user, a testable outcome, and a scope small enough to discuss.

Markdown vs Wiki

Why Markdown breaks in Jira description fields, how Jira's own wiki markup differs, and a side-by-side of the syntax that trips people up.

05

Tables

A Jira markdown table uses ||double pipes|| for headers and no separator row. Convert Markdown pipe tables into Jira wiki markup tables that render in descriptions and comments.

06

Code Blocks

Turn Markdown fenced code blocks into Jira {code} macros with language highlighting, and use {noformat} for logs and stack traces.

07

Code in Jira

Wrap the code in a {code} macro, or use the code block button in the new editor. Markdown fences do not work in Jira. Covers language hints, {noformat}, and inline code.

08

Markdown Support

Jira does not render pasted Markdown in description or comment fields. This guide shows which fields accept Markdown for Jira, which need wiki markup, and how to convert.

09

Paste Into Jira

Paste Markdown into Jira without broken formatting: convert to wiki markup first, then paste into the description or comment field. Covers tables, code blocks, and the API case.

The data boundary

Bring the work. Keep control of the system.

MarkdownMe shapes the artifact you paste. It does not become another Jira integration with broad access to your projects.

Before you paste

What this desk can—and cannot—do.

Does Jira Delivery Desk connect to Jira?

No. It has no Jira login, OAuth grant, API access, project read, work item creation, or automatic publishing.

Does the JQL builder run locally?

Yes. Query generation, explanation, and basic syntax checks run in your browser. Your JQL is not sent to MarkdownMe or Jira.

Can it validate custom fields and project values?

No. Fields, statuses, functions, permissions, and app extensions vary by Jira site. The tool flags tenant-specific names for review, then you confirm the query in Jira.

Which tools use AI?

Tools labelled AI service send only the text you submit to MarkdownMe's AI service. Browser tools stay local. Markdown to Jira is local by default and has optional AI formatting.
