Discord Text Formatter

Discord supports native markdown formatting (**bold**, *italic*, ~~strikethrough~~) in messages, but markdown does not work in usernames, nicknames, or server names. Unicode Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols are the only way to style those fields — and they work in chat messages too if you want a different look. Type your text and every style updates live; click copy and paste it into your Discord username, server name, nickname, or message. Runs entirely in your browser — completely free, instant, with no signup, no watermark, and no usage cap.

Make your Discord username, nickname, or server name stand out with 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐝, 𝓼𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽, 𝔣𝔯𝔞𝔨𝔱𝔲𝔯, and other fancy Unicode styles. Type, copy, paste — free and instant.
Why Unicode instead of Discord's **markdown**? Discord supports **bold** and *italic* natively in messages, but markdown formatting does NOT work in usernames, server names, or nicknames. Unicode text works everywhere — it's the only way to style those fields.

Things to keep in mind:
  • For messages, prefer native markdown: **bold**, *italic*, and ~~strikethrough~~ work natively in Discord chat. Unicode styling is best reserved for usernames and server names where markdown can't be used.
  • Username character limits: Styled characters count as multiple bytes — keep usernames within Discord's 32-character display limit.
  • Screen-reader unfriendly: Assistive tech reads the Unicode names, not the styled letters. Use with care in accessibility-conscious servers.
  • May show boxes on very old clients: Outdated OS emoji fonts may not render all Mathematical Alphanumeric glyph ranges.

How to use fancy text in Discord

  1. Type the text you want to style above — all 14 styles update live.
  2. Click Copy on the style you like.
  3. In Discord: open User Settings → My Account → Username to paste a styled name, or right-click your server and Edit → paste into the server name.
  4. For chat messages: paste directly in the message box (Ctrl/Cmd + V).

Runs entirely in your browser — your text is never uploaded.
